RTR: a brief history
RTR was founded as the natural progression of a career spent turning struggling organisations into sustainable businesses. After nearly two decades in the state-owned corporate sector — and another 15 years leading private companies — our founder saw too many businesses collapse not for lack of vision, but because intervention came too late, execution was weak, or structures were too rigid to adapt.
In 2021, RTR was created as a focused advisory partner to bring this experience directly to South African businesses in distress. The goal was never to build just another consulting firm, but to provide a lean, hands-on partner for companies facing financial strain, governance gaps, or operational breakdown.
Since then, RTR has supported enterprises across multiple industries — always with the same purpose: restore stability, protect jobs, and build the conditions for long-term growth.
The Leadership Team.
We are led by a seasoned executive with over 40 years of experience across state-owned entities, multinationals, and private companies. His career began in telecommunications before moving into the private sector, where he developed a reputation for transforming underperforming businesses into resilient, profitable enterprises.
Over the course of his career, he has:
- Steered successful turnarounds and restructures across diverse industries.
- Built supplier and funder relationships that span decades.
- Negotiated international partnerships in Europe, China, and the Middle East.
- Served on boards and industry bodies, shaping governance and industry standards.
Alongside RTR, he continues to provide subject-matter expertise and directorship support to other entities, reflecting a broad influence across advisory, manufacturing, and employee equity structures. RTR represents his commitment to applying this experience to help South African businesses in distress rebuild, survive, and thrive.
